OUR PROCESS: step by step
- Step 1: Getting a quote
If you are already working with one of our dealers, they will gather all the information on your project and forward it to us for a preliminary quote. If you do not have a dealer, call us, we will help you locate one.
- Step 2: Starting a job
Some dealers require a deposit to start a job. We in turn require a deposit from our dealers on most jobs. Your dealer will fax over a signed copy of our final bid signaling to us that this job is a go. Either your dealer or our template coordinator (Zach McCarter) will contact you immediately to set up a template. Generally, this takes place within 2 days of job confirmation.
- Step 3: Templating
Either your dealer or our template coordinator will call you and set up a template time and date. We prefer to correspond via e-mail on all communications regarding your job; please provide an e-mail address if you have one. We DO NOT require the tops to be removed for templating. Please clear all of the tops off before our templator arrives. It is imperative that ALL job information is provided at or before the template. Your job will NOT be processed or put into production if we are missing any required information (color, material, edge style, sink info, splash info, cook top info, overhang info, radius info and any special instructions). We automatically establish an install date when we set the template date. The install date will be moved back as we wait for this information. We require a decision maker to be present at time of template! Any changes made at time of template will require a new bid and a new signoff. Learn more about our templating procedure »
- Step 4: Installation
Installation usually takes all day depending on the size of job and distance from Columbia. Someone must be home during the installation to answer any questions and to sign off on the job. Structural changes to cabinets, supports, brackets etc are not part of our installation. It is your dealer's responsibility to make certain that the cabinets are structurally sound and level before we arrive to install. We will attach the sink and make sure the cook top fits but we do not plumb sinks or hook up electrical or gas appliances. Please prepare a clear path for the installers to carry the tops into the job area. Also, there will be some dust and possibly water associated with the install. We will NOT pay to clean the customers’ home as a result of normal dust associated with installation. Installers will ask decision maker to do a thorough inspection of the tops and sign off that the job is complete and satisfactory.
- Step 5: Follow up
We will send warranty information; care and maintenance information after the job is complete. We will also make sure the job is complete to your satisfaction at this time.
- Step 6: Education
It is imperative that you are thoroughly informed about the products you are purchasing. An educated and informed consumer is much more likely to be satisfied with the entire process than a consumer that has unrealistic expectations of the products or how those products are installed. For this reason, we have pre-job sign off sheets that each customer must sign. Please read these sheets and ask us any questions you may have.
